Mark Steiner
President/Owner
Mark Steiner has extensive design/build experience as a prime contractor. Projects performed over the last 32 years include roads, highways, wet and dry utilities, demolition/remediation, spans, office, medical buildings, retail, warehouse complexes and residential.
Mark Steiner also constructed numerous tenant improvements for governmental agencies, medical use, office and retail. MASCI has a proven and diverse workforce including Superintendents, Foremen and construction crews, and owning the necessary TIER 4 equipment and building tools. Combining these with Mark Steiner's imagination and drive has allowed him to work aggressively, competing projects in a cost-effective manner. As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Mark has made a commitment to employ Veterans when possible.
Vietnam-era veteran US Army, enlisting in 1974 and serving in the infantry as a paratrooper with the famed 82nd Airborne Division and a member of the Marksmanship Training Unit of the 7th Infantry Division. Staff operations non-commissioned officer with the elite 12th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in the Army Reserves, later qualified as an Army Ranger. Attended CA State University –Sacramento & Army Officer commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program with the University of California at Davis.
Derek Carroll has over 10 years construction management experience. His extensive experience in overseeing construction projects as well as managing quality control has made him a leader among his peers in the construction industry. He has vast experience in operational management, estimating and bidding, international logistics, logistics management, quality control/quality assurance, and construction inspection.
As a project manager he works on determining the project in logical steps, project budget, and time required to meet deadlines. He works on estimating/bidding for underground, electrical, and civil construction. He determines labor requirements and dispatches workers to construction sites. He inspects and reviews projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
He has also managed quality control and daily reports in order to facilitate the progression of projects worth over $30 Million. Derek has overseen work in substations in both gas and high voltage for San Diego Gas and Electric. Working in substations is extremely sensitive and our organization prides itself on our safety record the ability of our managers to ensure proper safety standards in place.
Derek also has his general engineering license from the CLSB. Along with his construction experience, Derek brings his military service experience to the Team. He has spent 11 years as a Special Forces Engineering Sergeant. His strong military resilience and Army values adds a wealth of experience and confidence needed in the construction industry. He has deployed multiple times as a Special Forces Senior Engineer. As a senior engineer he was the primary advisor to the commander on all aspects of engineering, construction and demolitions.

Senior Construction Project Manager
Ron Classon has over 30 years experience in the construction industry and over 14 years managing projects as a project manager. His extensive experience in multi-family home and commercial construction has made him a vital part of our team.
Ron's knowledge of technical specifications and specialized building techniques is unmatched. He has extensive experience in strategic operational management, estimating and bidding, logistics management, design/build, quality control/quality assurance, personnel management, and construction inspection.
As a project manager he works on determining the project in logical steps, budget, and time required to meet deadlines. He works on estimating/bidding for building remodels, design/build projects, medical facilities, underground, electrical, and civil construction. He determines labor requirements and dispatches workers to construction sites. He also inspects and reviews projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
Ron has overseen projects involving building modernization, structural retrofits, remodels, tenant improvements, and new construction.
Terry Schmidt has over 33 years of experience in the construction industry and over 13 years managing projects as a superintendent and project manager. His extensive experience in overseeing construction projects has made him an invaluable asset to our team. Terry’s knowledge in the field cannot be matched and his ability to mitigate conflict on projects is unrivaled.

Office Manager
Darleen is the office manager for MASCI with a background in medical and construction office management.
For the past 26 years she has been in the construction office management field and oversees accounting, construction coordination, business development and marketing.
